New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman is will reportedly announce today that the new Syracuse land bank will get $3 million from the state's mortgage foreclosure settlement with big banks.

The Post-Standard reports that Scheiderman will announce the grant to Syracuse in Buffalo today. The attorney general will also be announcing grants to land banks in Buffalo, Rochester, Chautauqua County, Newburgh, and Suffolk County. The Syracuse land bank can use the money to renovate and resell a number of properties claimed by the city and turned over to them. They took possession of the first fifteen of those properties earlier this month.
