Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say they have arrested a Camden man after an investigation into the mistreatment and ultimate death of his dog.

Deputies say the town of Camden Animal Control Officer removed 25-year-old Ian West's dog from his home May 17, and died May 20 from its deteriorated health condition. West has been charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals. He was arraigned in Town of Camden Court and is in custody in lieu of bail. The Oneida District Attorney's Office was consulted during this investigation.
