Madison County Health Department announced today it has received complaints of gastrointestinal illness  from some patrons that attended an Easter Sunday Buffet on April 20th at the Solsville Hotel in the Town of Madison.

“We are early in the investigation process and a cause of illness has not yet been identified. Specimens are being collected and sent for testing. We will provide further information as the test results become available,” said Cheryl Geiler, Director of Community Health at Madison County Health Department.

The Madison County Health Department is working with the New York State Department of Health and County Health Departments in Onondaga, Oneida, and Chenango where some residents have also reported illness after attending the Hotel Buffet. The Solsville Hotel is cooperating fully with Madison County Health Department as part this ongoing investigation.

The facility’s food service operation has had satisfactory food-service inspections in the past.

The Health Department encourages anyone who may have experienced illness after attending the Solsville Hotel Easter Buffet on April 20th to contact their local Health Department or Madison County Health Department at 366-2361.
