SYRACUSE, NY –Mayor Stephanie A. Miner will join with other city-wide candidates and district council candidates at the Onondaga County Board of Elections, 1000 Erie Blvd West, on Monday morning at 10:00 AM, to file Designating Petitions to appear on the ballot for elections this fall.
Since June 4, city Democrats, including committee members and volunteers, have been passing petitions for the endorsed candidates, amassing nearly 4,000 signatures for the city-wide slate alone. One thousand verified signatures are required to secure a place on the ballot. Monday is the first day candidates may begin submitting petitions; they are due no later than Thursday.
Miner’s campaign manager, Kyle Madden, said the number of signatures is a clear sign of strength and grassroots support heading into the primary campaign. “Hundreds of volunteers have put in thousands of hours to ensure that the Mayor and other candidates endorsed by the Democratic Committee make it on the ballot. We’re happy to report we’ve accomplished that goal.
“With almost four times the number of requisite signatures, it’s clear that our candidates have wide-spread volunteer and voter support that puts them all in a great position going into September’s primaries.”
