City OK's Further Inner Harbor Development

The city of Syracuse has green-lighted more construction for development at the Inner Harbor.

The city's planning commission gave the OK to build a mixed-use building featuring 30 thousand square feet of retail and over 100 apartments.  Officials with COR Development say they'll begin construction of the building on Van Rensselaer Street later this year or early in 2015.  COR has already gotten a go-ahead to build an Aloft hotel at the southern shore of the harbor on West Kirkpatrick Street.  Both are part of a proposed $350 million dollar Inner Harbor development plan.
