Clay, N.Y. - A fire destroyed a mobile home in Clay this morning was the home of a man accused of being high on heroin during a crash that killed a Liverpool woman.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the mobile home at the former Casual Estates was the home of Muhammad Baqir. Firefighters responded to Grosvenor Road blaze around 4:13 a.m. No body was hurt and fire investigators are determining how the fire was started.
Deputies say that Baqir told them that he had sniffed heroin the day he crashed his car on Route 57 killing Meagan Patterson and sending four others to the hospital. Baqir faces charges including vehicular manslaughter, driving while under the influence of drugs, and aggravated unlicensed operator.
