AP) _ State police say one man is dead and another is hospitalized after their minivan collided with a milk tanker on a central New York road.

Troopers tell local media outlets that a Byrne Dairy tanker was making a turn onto a road when it was hit by the van around 2 a.m. Wednesday in the Onondaga County town of Skaneateles (skin-ee-AT'-luhs), 15 miles southwest of Syracuse.

Police say two 20-year-old men from Elbridge were in the van. Troopers say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger is listed in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Their names haven't been released. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
