Seneca Falls, N.Y. - The National Women's Hall of Fame has received more government funding for its new national headquarters.

Matching grants of $650,000 from the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council will be used to rehabilitate the Seneca Knitting Mill in Seneca Falls, N.Y. The historic building, constructed in the 1840s, will be the hall of fame's new home. The mill is located along two waterfront acres of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, not far from the hall of fame's current location, and when complete will include a Center for Great Women.

The $25 million project includes over $5 million in matching federal and state grants, which require the hall of fame to raise an equivalent amount through a local and national fundraising campaign from corporations, foundations and private individuals.
