Oswego police tell us they have a man in custody that was reported to be suicidal and had a gun.

Officers responded to a 911 call about someone armed and suicidal at a residence on West 3rd Street. Police learned he was alone and not a threat to anyone outside. Kingsford Park School, which was in the vicinity, was informed of the situation and was locked down as a precaution. After negotiators spoke with him, he allowed himself to be taken into custody under the state's Mental Hygiene Law. No criminal charges have been filed. A search of the residence did not turn up a weapon.
