Tense moments on the campus of Henninger High School in Syracuse after a 12 year old started firing a pellet gun in the school parking lot.

City Police say they've charged the 12 year old with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say the youth fired the pellet guns 12 times in the school parking lot, striking one high school student four times.

The student who was hit with the pellets suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. After reviewing surveillance video. the pellet gun was recovered by officers in some bushes on a property next to the school grounds.

It's not believed that the weapon was actually inside Henninger High School, but was only brought to the parking area. The suspect's guardian was issued an appearance tickets for the child to appear in Family Court.
