A man and a teenager are in custody after police learned they had fired a shotgun and rifle on Apple Street in Syracuse.

Syracuse police tell us they learned two males with rifles were on Apple Street, walking away from where the shots had been heard. A brief search located the two in the same block, as well as a .22 caliber rifle and shotgun that had been hidden by them just prior to the officer's arrival. The two suspects, 35-year-old Luis Ayala and 17-year-old Amir Ford, both from Syracuse, were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and prohibited use and possession of a firearm.  They were taken to the Justice Center for arraignment. No injuries were reported.
