Police agenices all over Central New York will step up their patrols this weekend looking for drunk drivers.

The weekend before Halloween has now become one of the most deadly weekends on the road each year. Adults are going to Halloween parties and then getting behind the wheel and driving drunk.

Halloween weekend now ranks up there with St. Patricks Day and New Years Eve as one of the biggest party nights of the year.

DeWitt police say they are stepping up their patrols this weekend and say they have even been called out to rowdy Halloween parties in the past.

Extra personnell will be on the roads, but DeWitt Police say they don't neccessarily plan to have any sobriety checkpoints this weekend.
