The New York State Fair announced it will employ restaurateurs from some of Upstate's best restaurants to operate the Empire State Room during this year's fair.
State Agriculture Commissioner Daryl Aubertine says the fair and Bedford Falls Enterprises LLC have contracted for full operation of the Empire room as a restaurant from 9 am until midnight daily. A bar will also be in operation most days from 10am until 10pm. The fair says Bedford will also cater all of the fair's scheduled banquets.
Bedford operates the Hotel Clarence in Seneca Falls and the Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville, and is owned by Jay and Kathy Bernhardt. Ben Eberhardt, who manages the restaurants, has been involved in the past with the Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles and Colgate Inn in Hamilton, and his family operated the Empire Room at one time.
