Buffalo, N.Y. - The Buffalo Sabres are officially blown up.

Team Owner Terry Pegula announced that both General Manager Darcy Regier and Head Coach Ron Rolston are out. The team also announced that Pat LaFontaine will start as the President of Hockey Operations, while former Sabres coach Ted Nolan will assume head coaching duties.

“He comes in as a very qualified man who’s done a lot of great things in this game,” LaFontaine said of Nolan. LaFontaine indicated that Nolan will finsih the year and that the team will be looking at other candidates to start next season.

LaFontaine said that he would start his search for a new GM immediately.
