A suspect is in custody in the slaying of a mother and daughter who were killed when they went to feed a neighbor's cats in rural upstate New York.

State police say Friday that 32-year-old Dante Taylor of Rochester is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

He's accused of killing 54-year-old Terri Moulton and her 30-year-old daughter, Stacey Moulton, who investigators believe interrupted a burglary inside the home in Sodus, in Wayne County, Sunday.

Their bodies were found by Charles Moulton later in the afternoon when he went to see why his wife and daughter hadn't returned home.

Taylor is being held at Monroe County Jail.
