Posted Monday, June 10th 2013 @ 9am  by Jim Donovan

Syracuse police have a suspect in custody following a report of a suspicious person with a weapon last night.

Officers say they received a complaint about two males walking near West Onondaga and Tallman Streets, with one of them carrying a gun. The officers located the males, and the subsequent investigation led to officers discovering a defaced and loaded .38 caliber revolver on one of the males. He was identified as 23-year-old Hassan Haskins of Syracuse. Haskins was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees. He is in the Justice Center, awaiting arraignment this morning. The second male with Haskins was not charged.
