The police have now removed weapons from a Marcellus home after school district officials there perceived a threat from a middle school student.
The district says they're investigation was prompted by a conversation that was overheard by students at CS Driver Middle School. The district described the conversation as disturbing between two students.
The police interviewed witnesses after the conversation was reported and Marcellus police and the Sheriffs Department searched the homes of the suspected students and several weapons were removed from the home.
It's beleived that the student wanted to harm other classmates, but the district now says the threat has been removed.
District officials say a credible threat was present in this case.
The school has not released the names of the students because of their age and rules involving student privacy laws.
