United Way president Frank Lazarski announced that it has raised $7.52 million during its 2012-2013 campaign, an increase over last year's $7.5 million.

Lazarski says the funds are dedicated to what the community needs most, which is to continue to help local individuals and families to be stable and healthy. United Way is Onondaga County's biggest fundraising campaign. The umbrella organization funds some 95 programs operated by 35 different agencies. They estimate their programs serve more than one in four Central New Yorkers.
