Voters in the West Genesee School District have gone along with the district's plan to spend $24 million to renovate and expand district property.

The special election authorizes the district to spend the money on all school buildings, including schools, the transportation center and administrative buildings. The district will also be able to hold back about $700,000 to replace the turf field when necessary. It was a sparse turnout, with less than a thousand votes cast. The budget plan passed by a 4-to-1 margin.
