Being a Dad is Awesome

Some Random Father's Day thoughts...

Being a Dad is awesome. Seems obvious but, sadly, it's not to a select few men in our society.

Now being a Dad (or parent) isn't easy, but if I learned anything from my father it's that just being around and trying your best is enough.

My parents divorced when I was 5. It was hard... what I remember of it anyway. I lived with my mom, who was amazing. But my dad was too. He was always around. He went to EVERY game, concert, function, etc. Every Wednesday and Sunday he'd come pick me up and we'd catch up on things.

Was it perfect? No. Was it bad? No!

He taught me a lot... and being there was one of the many things he taught me without probably meaning to LOL. He also taught me to not struggle and get a bigger hammer, but that's another story.

I have no idea if I'm doing a good job with my 3 year old. I try though. We, Jessi and I, try. We do our best to be a team, and I think we are doing alright.

I can tell because he laughs a lot. He smiles a lot. Yeah... he has is tantrums and cries about everything that doesn't go his way LOL, but he's happy.

Let me tell you, nothing makes you feel more awesome than a happy kid. It gives you purpose. My son, Rory, is my world and makes my world awesome.

For Father's Day we got matching shirts from the show "The Office" and spent the day at the beach. That was awesome.

Here's some pics... from my Father's Day
