Pat's 4th of July at Farm Sanctuary

Every year for the 4th of July, we go to Farm Sanctuary near Watkins Glen, NY.

They have a picnic (er, pignic) and you get up close and personal with cows, pigs, goats, chickens, geese and more. It's an awesome time that our little guy LOVES.

Farm Sanctuary rescues and takes in abused farm animals, rehabs them, and gives them a permanent loving home. They are never slaughtered or used for dairy production or anything like that.

Jon Stewart... yes THAT Jon Stewart... and his wife (who actually is the one who started theirs) run a Farm sanctuary in New Jersey. Jon famously rescued Frank the cow, who lives in the one we visited. See his story...

If you can't tell, Farm Sanctuary advocates for veganism.

Now look, I'm not going to give you a lecture. I believe lecturing people about what they eat often results in a negative response. You do you. I'm judging you at all. Life is hard and short and meat is factually delicious and anyone who says it's not is probably lying.

You do NOT have to be a vegan to go to Farm Sanctuary and have a fantastic time. I highly recommend it, if for no other reason that to see awesome animals and get some fresh air.  More info here: https://www.farmsanctuary.org/

Full disclosure too: I am a vegetarian. My wife and son are vegan. If you are interested in this, drop me a note and I'm happy to talk to you about: PatMcMahon@iHeartMedia.com
