For Drum Soldier Gets Medal of Honor - The Good Stuff 3-28-19

A Fort Drum soldier has been honored for making the ultimate sacrifice. Staff Sergeant Travis Atkins was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor yesterday. His son, also named Travis, received the award on behalf of his father. Atkins’ heroic action saved the lives of his fellow squad members. 


The annual White Ribbon Walk is tomorrow afternoon. It’s The Vera House’s 25th Anniversary of the White Ribbon Campaign which has men stand up to violence against women. The walk begins in Clinton Square and ends at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. More info, click here.


2 kids who got lost in the woods were found within 15 minutes by a Virginia police dog. Bane, a Dutch Shepherd, was used to search for them after parents and neighbors were unable to find the missing eight-year-olds. Bane tracked and located the kids in just 15 minutes. He was rewarded with Chick-fil-A ice cream. USA Today


The Chenango Valley boys soccer team donated $500 to the Lourdes hospital foundation. The team wore pink jerseys with the names of people in their lives affected by cancer last season, and asked family and friends to donate based on the number of goals they scored. WBNG

A Rochester girl at the Golisano Children's Hospital is getting a front-row seat at Yankee Stadium on Opening Day, all thanks to a tweet. A man posted on twitter that he had to tickets but couldn’t use them, and wanted to get them to a kid who deserves to go. That’s when Morgan’s dad chimed in. She’s had three surgeries on her arm in the last 10 days at Golisano Children’s Hospital. She got the tickets, and is a huge Aaron Judge fan. She’s hoping to meet him. WHEC
