WATCH: Jim Fowler of "Wild Kingdom" Dead at 89

You'll have to have been watching TV prior to 1988 to remember Jim Fowler, who helped make Wild Kingdom a staple of animal programming in most family's homes. Jim co-hosted the program with Marlin Perkins from 1963 until 1985, and then hosted it alone until 1988. Fowler died Wednesday at the age of 89. Wild Kingdom was always a fun show to watch, mostly because of Jim and his obvious love for all animals. Jim made regular appearances on The Tonight Show over the years, and I've got a clip with Jim and Johnny Carson from the 80's. For a kid like me who grew up where the nearest zoo was 100 miles away, Jim Fowler and Wild Kingdom was my own zoo and travelogue combined. He'll be missed for sure.
