Meet Kass - Our dog of the day for 12 Dogs of Christmas!

It's that time of year again! When 12 Dogs of Christmas will have the chance to write their letters to Santa and you get to be elves helping Santa send them home. It's easy, just share the letters so they make it all the way to the North Pole.

Meet Kass:

Dear Santa,

Good morning. If it is a good morning, which I doubt. My owner took me to a Texas shelter in July and left me there. I was only 6 months old and being left behind moved me to tears. Do you know what it is like to have people not choose you over and over and over again? Yup, Santa – I know how that feels. I came to NY in October full of hope that in this magical land things would be different. But here I am…..still waiting for someone to choose me. I thought it would take days. Then weeks. Now I am counting in months. Who knows if this letter will help. Perhaps it is all for naught.

My first birthday is this Saturday. Likely I will celebrate it here still waiting for my life to begin. I will probably still be here on Christmas Eve when you are giving gifts to dogs who live in homes. Pathetic. That’s what my life is. Pathetic. Oh bother. Ohhh-kayy. I will stop complaining and make my Christmas wish.

I wish for a home where I am the only dog because I have waited and wanted half my life to belong to someone I think that is only fair. Some dogs get on my nerves. I am not sure if cats are annoying as I have never lived with one, so I will let you figure that one out. I like kids and if you pick a house that has them, I wish for them to be old enough to play with me and help take care of me. I wish for a few walks and an occasional adventure. I wish for a soft, warm place to sleep. I wish for good food and mostly wish for someone who wants to be my best friend.

Thanks for noticin’ me, Santa. If you need to know how much room on the sleigh I will need, I weigh 48 pounds. I hope you have better luck than I have had in finding someone who wants me.

Love,

Kass
