Perhaps no one's Winter Olympics were as emotional as Lindsey Vonn's. She returned to the slopes after an injury during the 2014 Games ended her season. At 33, she knew 2018 would be her last Olympics, and the loss of her grandfather Don just three months ago added to her emotional weight.
Lindsey ended her Olympic career at PyeongChang with a bronze medal and the chance to scatter her grandpa's ashes in Korea, where he had served America during the Korea War. To me, she has acted in the very best spirit of what athletic competition is all about. We owe Lindsey a huge debt of gratitude for the graceful way she has represented all of us!
