A blind man is now able to see thanks to amazing new technology. The bionic eye has a tiny camera that sends the images to a wearable computer which are sent wirelessly to an implant in his eye. It’s not perfect, but after 20 years of being blind he says he’s excited to see beautiful things.
A bride got a special ride to her wedding...in a police car! The bride was in her dress and riding in the limo... when the limo broke down 30 minutes away from the chapel. Luckily, the sheriff was nearby and gave the bride a ride...with 10 minutes to spare!
Despite the mass shooting earlier this week, a bipartisan baseball game raised over a million dollars for charity. The annual Congressional Baseball Game went off as planned last night and raised the money for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and other charities. Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise remains in critical condition from the shooting, which happened at a practice for the game. Politicians have come together, for once, to support Scalise.
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan are donating millions to help schoolteachers in Silicon Valley afford a down payment on a home. The Facebook CEO and his wife are pledging five-million-dollars through their Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which pays up to half of a 20-percent down payment on a house. The donation is aimed at giving educators a chance to buy a house in the region, which has a median home price of 800-thousand-dollars.
