CNY Kid On A Mission to Tour Firehouses - The Good Stuff

  • A boy from Central New York is on a mission to visit all the firehouses in the area. 12-year-old, Joey Abt, toured the Cicero fire department a few days ago, which is one of 80 he hopes to see by the end of the summer. Not surprisingly, he says he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. Here's a link to his Facebook page. Read more.

  • While firefighters were fighting a fire in California, they noticed a dog getting away from the blaze. They rescued the dog and posted a picture of the pup on Facebook hoping they could reconnect the pooch to its owner. Within 20 minutes of the post being up, two sisters saw the pic and realized it was their parent’s dog, Sandy. Sandy was reconnected with her owners, showcasing the good that can come from social media.

  • I want to give a personal shout out to Target. I was shopping at Target the other day and had left a bag at the counter when I paid for everything. The cashier RAN, literally, out into the parking lot, searched for and found Rory and I, to give me the bag. It’s a small thing, but she went above and beyond to make sure I had all of my things, and I really appreciate that act of kindness.
  • A couple in Virginia got engaged and married on the same night in a surprise wedding ceremony! The couple who met in the Army already had a marriage license but they hadn’t picked a date or got properly engaged. One night, while they were on a date at a wine bar, the boyfriend popped the question officially and then they went over to a friend’s house where their loved ones were waiting. The bride said the night was perfect.
