The man blamed by many Chicago Cubs fans for preventing the team from getting to the 2003 World Series is getting a World Series Ring from the team. Steve Bartman infamously interfered with a foul ball in Game 6 of the 2003 National League Championship, causing most fans to blame him for the Cubs' eventual series loss. Bartman has literally had to go into hiding because of how angry fans were with him, which the team's owners felt terrible about. Now that the Cubs finally won the world series last year they decided to give Bartman the very expensive item to hopefully provide closure. Bartman thanked the team, and also hoped this would provide closure to still angry fans.
A woman is once again wearing her wedding ring thanks to some workers at a New York power company. Sarah Sommer, who is 8 months pregnant, was walking out of Grand Central Terminal on Monday. She wanted to take the ring off because it was tight on her finger. When she pulled it off, the wedding band slipped out of her hand and fell into a sewer. Sommer saw the workers nearby and alerted them. They sprang into action, drained some of the water, and were able to recover the ring. Sommer thanked the workers and said they saved her from what would've been an awkward conversation with her husband.
