Restaurants across the country are opening their doors for events where the food is free, but you’re asked to pay it forward. The events are called Karma Kitchen, which started in California in 2007. The project has now spread to 24 other locations around the globe. It’s not about charity, but rather about paying it forward. Customers order the food from a one-page menu that has no prices, and at the end of their meal, they get a check for $0.00 with this note: “In the spirit of generosity, someone who came before you made a gift of this meal. We hope you will continue the circle of giving in your own way.” Check out the whole story here NBC News.
