A friendly competition at the Syracuse St Patrick’s Day parade led to thousands of food donations. The St. Patrick's Hunger Project challenged different local Irish step dancing teams to collect food, and promised the team who collected the most got to march first in the parade. The Johnston School of Irish Dance won the competition collecting more that 8,000 meals. Way to go that's so cool and it was great to see everyone out at the parade! Santa said he had a blast!

A group of students surprised their fellow classmate with money to help get a service dog. Kaelie De Heer has cerebral palsy, and she would greatly benefit from the assistance a service dog can give her. But her family couldn’t afford the steep price of $28,000 to get the dog. So when some of Kaelie classmates found out about this they wanted to help. Hosting Fundraisers like concession stands and events in the gym they were able to raise $3,000. May seem like a little toward the large price tag but the family was grateful and said anything will help.
