A new African lion exhibit is open at Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville! The park officially opened for the season Wednesday and the new exhibit features 2 new lion cubs, one of which is a rare white lion. Meanwhile internationally famous April the Giraffe and Oliver are once again getting romantic, so we may see a baby giraffe in the near future!

Over 850 local athletes took part in the special olympics yesterday at CNS High School. It’s a day of fitness, competition and most importantly fun! Many of the athletes spent weeks preparing with their teachers and coaches getting ready for it. A record number took part in this year’s as well . The special Olympics promote fitness and self confidence.
A cat is being credited with saving an Ohio family from carbon monoxide poisoning after alerting them to a leak in their home. The normally quiet cat woke up the family, which includes two children, in the middle of the night with loud meowing. They got up just in time to see Mr. Boo pass out in the hallway. The family grabbed Boo, rushed out of the house. Both kids fainted as well. After being taken to the hospital, all family members along with Mr. Boo and another family cat are doing fine.
10 years ago, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra started a free after-school music program -- called OrchKids -- with 30 students in a single school. Since then, it’s grown to 1,300 students in schools all over the city. The program also offers homework tutors, an after-school snack and dinner, and it’s all to help those less fortunate. Some of the students in OrchKids have gone on to win scholarships, play with famous musicians, perform at halftime at a Baltimore Ravens game and win awards at the White House.
