Happy Mother's Day to my mom and to all beautiful moms!

Please do me a favor and look at that picture above.  That smiling woman is my mother Marian Kennedy.  This Sunday is all about her and every mom like her.  But, realistically, shouldn't EVERY day be about our mothers?

Seriously.  Quick, think.  Where would you and I be without our moms?

They brought us here, they fed us, nurtured us, held us through happy times and sad times.

Sadly, we have probably been spoiled so much by our mothers, we take them for granted.

This will in no way make it up to my mom for all the pain and suffering she put up with, but I would like to introduce you to this wonderful woman.  She grew up in Eureka, California, and was somehow talked into moving three thousand miles to the east to start a whole new life.  In doing so, she also started five other lives, as my siblings and I were lucky enough to be raised by this incredible woman named Marian.

Some words that describe her:

Amazing.

Beautiful.

Caring.

Generous.

Gracious.

Selfless.

Classy.

Stylish.

LOVING!

Feel free to use those words about your own mother if you have been as lucky in life as I have been.

Even though my mom passed away thirty years ago, I carry her in my heart and soul everyday.  I wish on this Mother's Day weekend that I had told her how important she was to me, my sister and three brothers. And, to so many of my friends who she allowed into her home, and spoiled them like they were her own.

Because, as my friends will attest, she treated everyone with respect, showering us all with love.  Even on our worst days, my mother always found a way to make it all seem better.

Isn't that what moms always do?

So, even though I can't hug her close, like she always did with me, I can let the world know how incredible my mom Marian was.  And how much I miss her today.  Tomorrow. Forever.

I love you mom.  Thanks for being the incredible influence that you have always been in my life.

Just like your mother.
