The Syracuse Chiefs are no more- as they became the Syracuse Mets yesterday. Not everyone is thrilled with the name change- after all, they’ve been the Chiefs since 1934. But with the new name comes two great announcements:
1. The stadium is getting $25 million of upgrades, and
2. The Mets signed a new lease with the city through 2043, keeping them here for a long time.

A man wrongly convicted 20 years ago of murder is now a free man thanks to new DNA evidence. Horace Roberts has always maintained his innocence in the 1998 killing of Terry Cheek, who was his lover. The California Innocence Project took up his case in 2003 and after a lot of hard work, he’s finally being reunited with his family. Read more here: CBS Los Angeles
A well-known local restaurant will take over for a former Fayetteville staple. Hullar's Restaurant closed earlier this year after 100 years in business, which was a bummer. But the family hand-picked a great replacement: Bull and Bear. They will take over the spot with their 3rd location in CNY. A nurse in Michigan went above and beyond the call of duty when she donated a kidney to one of her longtime patients. Iris Zink has been treating Ginny Holcomb for more than 15 years. So when Ginny was diagnosed with kidney cancer, Iris said she didn’t think twice about doing everything she could to help her. The two women were a perfect match and the transplant went smoothly.
