The unemployment rate in Syracuse dropped about 1% from last year. It was 4.1 percent in August. There were about 3,400 more jobs in Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison counties for the month of August than there were in the same month last year. The overall rate throughout New York State has also gone down (4.1 from 4.9), as well as nationally (3.9 from 4.5). Read the full story here: Syracuse.com
