Taylor Swift Gives $15K+ to Mother in Coma

posted by Pat McMahon -

Taylor Swift is giving back to a teenage fan in Utah whose mother has been in a coma for the past three years.  The 19-year-old girl wrote on Twitter earlier this month that her and her brother are financially supporting their family while their father stays home to care for their mom.  Swift just donated 15-thousand, 500 dollars to the family's GoFundMe page over the weekend.  She signed the donation, "love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift," which are the names of her two cats.  More on this story here: People.com and see the donation and story below...

Strong Hearts Cafe is making a big move! The downtown landmark, known for its meatless, plant based menu, is moving form their current location to a larger one just down the road on. E. Fayette Street. They say the expansion will give them a much ;larger dining room, revamped menu, and faster ordering. The owner of Strong Hearts, Joel Capolongo, is a good friend of the show and we can’t wait to check out the new space, which should open mid 2019. More here: NewsChannel 9 and below...

Lyft is donating rides and money to help victims of domestic violence. The ride-sharing service has donated $20,000 in credits to help get victims of domestic violence to and from shelters in Arizona. The company also collected basic items shelters requested, including personal hygiene products, diapers, socks and underwear from Lyft employees and drivers. Lyft is also offering customers discounts to help raise money for the cause too. New riders who use the code ENDVIOLENCE can save $5 on four rides, and existing riders can use ENDVIOLENCE18 to save 20% off two rides in October. Each time the codes are used, Lyft will donate $10 to the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. More here: KTAR
