After a fire at the Greece Commons apartment left a local basketball coach homeless and his team without uniforms, a penfield woman stepped up. Anita Chazan raised over $1,000 for the Shining Stars Basketball Academy. More here: WHEC.com

Congrats to local teen Clyde Van Dyke who won a national 4-H award for his work mapping the opioid epidemic across the country. His work is making a big difference in the fight against drugs. More here: WBNG

Hundreds of metalheads used kazoos to drown out the hate speech of the Westboro Baptist Church. They also dressed up in costumes, all to support Virginia’s first Transgender lawmaker. The Westboro Baptist Church showed up, looked at the metalheads, and left. More info, CLICK HERE

The regular season is over but basketball continues at the Dome! The SU women’s team is getting some home court advantage as they will host Fordham at the Dome Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The SU women have their highest seeding ever this year at number 3.

The Johnson City Police Association and the Johnson City Professional Firefighters are selling t-shirts to promote autism awareness. All profits will go to the local group Alive with Autism. You can buy one by CLICKING HERE
