Anyone who has watched Hendrix perform can tell that Prince was heavily influenced by him. Clapton also says that Prince's music helped him through a difficult time. So it should come as no surprise when Clapton launched into Purple Rain during a London concert last week. He is probably one of the few who could do The Purple One justice with his playing.
