Jim and Julie Boeheim donated 4 passenger vans to the Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse. The brand new vans cost a total of over $220,000.The vans will help transport kids all around the city, exposing them to different venues and having a positive impact on their lives. More from News Channel 9...
9 sets of twins are graduating from Norwich High School. The 18 kids have grown up together, and it’s unusual but really cool to see so many twins in one school, let alone one class. They say it will be weird going off to different colleges, but say they always have each other to lean on. More below from, again, News Channel 9
Concerts by the shore at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte are back, despite the water levels. Hundreds came out last night for the first concert of the season. It’s been a tough year already along the shores of Lake Ontario, by the concerts signal at least some return to normalcy. They happen every Wednesday through Aug. 28th.
Lady Gaga is helping more teens with their mental health. Her Born This Way Foundation, along with the National Council for Behavioral Health, will be expanding the mental health program. The Teen Mental Health First Aid will expand to 20 more high schools across the country. It helps 10th to 12th grade students learn about mental illnesses. More, watch below...
A Michigan man credits a tip from a stranger with helping him realize he'd won a million dollar lottery prize. Gregory Guilford bought a Mega Millions ticket for the May 28th drawing, but failed to check it right away. He said he was waiting to buy a Powerball ticket when a woman in line behind him happened to mention that another store sold a big winner last night! He decided to have his numbers scanned, and was stunned to discover he was holding a ticket worth one-million dollars. More here: UPI
