Is this ad insulting to you (below)? A woman named Mora Reinka recently shared the promotional email she got from a Connecticut location of Anytime Fitness, in which she says they basically tried to fat-shame her to come back to their location.
She belonged to Anytime Fitness in the past, said she was “horrified” by the email, with most agreeing with her, calling it “heartbreaking,” and one person noting, “It’s like an eating disorder sent out an email.
The company for their part said they were “appalled” by the “insensitive email,” which apparently came from the owner of the specific location in Manchester, adding, “The message was the polar opposite of how we coach our franchisees to communicate with the public.” They said they contacted the manager and he apologized, with the company sending out personal apologizes to anyone who received the email.
