Prince William recently reflected on the year, referring to 2024 as the "hardest year in my life" with both his wife, Kate Middleton, and father, King Charles, being diagnosed with cancer less than two years after losing his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

"It's been dreadful. It's probably been the hardest year in my life."

According to People, the beloved royal opened up about how hard it's been attempting to "keep everything on track" this year in a new interview, citing unfortunate family matters he's had to endure.

"So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult. But I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it's been, yeah, it's been brutal."

Earlier this week, the 42-year-old shared new information regarding Middleton's health following the mother-of-three's chemotherapy completion a few months ago. Upon attending the annual Earthshot Environment Awards in South Africa on Wednesday (November 6), the Prince of Wales mentioned that his wife has been "amazing this whole year."

"She's doing really well. Hopefully she’s watching tonight and cheering me on. She’s been amazing this whole year, and I know she’ll be really keen to see tonight be a success."
