Charlie Brown Holiday Specials To Air On TV After All

Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving and Christmas specials will air on TV, after all.

After Apple TV+ acquired the rights to the beloved Peanuts holiday specials, online petitions came pouring in from viewers who were used to watching the animated specials on network TV. Apple attempted to compromise by offering each program to stream for free for a handful of days, but the industry giant has gone a step further. On Wednesday (November 18), Apple announced a new team-up with PBS for ad-free broadcasts of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on November 22 and A Charlie Brown Christmas on December 13 at 7:30 pm local time.

Additionally, the Charlie Brown specials will also air for free during three-day window periods on AppleTV+. While Thanksgiving will be available November 25-27, Christmas will be ready at your finger tips December 11-13. Before airing annually on CBS, the Charlie Brown holiday specials aired on ABC beginning in the 1960s.

Earlier in the day, Apple TV+ announced another holiday treat in the form of Mariah Carey's upcoming holiday special, which is appropriately titled Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special. The over-the-top special, which is set to debut globally December 4, is focused on a crisis at the North Pole with MC ready to help Santa save the day. Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg and more will appear throughout the program for musical performances and animation festivities.
